Except for the front and rear caps, the Lentar 45-135mm 3.5 zoom lens is all metal which means it’s heavy.  It’s got an M42/ Canon EF mount, You won’t see any lens this size today with its 45-135mm zoom range.  It’s just not going to happen.  It’s got a constant maximum aperture of 3.5 which is great for a zoom of that range.

Canon EF mount

This lens is a relatively compact large aperture wide angle from 135 format film. It has 49mm filter threads and the build quality is superb, all metal construction, fine focus feel, and 6 slightly curved diaphragm blades. Minimum focus is 0.4 m (1.25 ft), and the lens has 8 elements in 7 groups.

Canon EF mount

This lens has garnered something of a legendary reputation online, and is known for its sharpness, bokeh, and propensity for flare.

The earliest versions of the lens were made with an unusually high number of elements (8) in an effort to try and ‘one-up’ Zeiss, who were regarded as the best lens makers in the world at the time.
